Solomon begins this chapter by giving attention to a wise woman verses a foolish woman. One builds while the other pulls down. The same can be said of our witness for Christ. We are building up or pulling down through our witness.
Envy, lies, perverse, deceit, foolish, and evil. Do any of these words describe you or your behavior? Would these words be associated with you from the keen eye of an onlooker? Does the very mention of these words bring conviction to your soul? If so, your witness is pulling down the name of Jesus Christ, His church, and Christianity as a whole. So what can be done to transform your witness?
Do the opposite. Good will, truth, pure, honest, wisdom, and good, are all contrary to the afore mentioned. These are those godly characteristics which build up verses pulling down. Pray for the Holy Spirit to resonate the Word of God through the very fiber of your head, heart, and soul. Asked God to saturate you eyes and ears with His divine presence through the daily struggles you may battle. Carry these traits with you to school and work and be persistent in letting them shine as the light of the Son through your life. This is the witness I desire. This is the witness I pray for. What about you?
Proverbs 14:5 (NKJV) A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness will utter lies.
